The wines of Mt. Brave

2013 Cabernet Sauvignon

Above the fog line, the nutrient poor soils and extreme drainage allow for this Mt. Brave Cabernet Sauvignon to thrive. Tiny berries with intense flavor presents typical Mt. Veeder characteristics of blueberry, floral notes and minerality followed by raspberry and a touch of herb. This wine has great texture, expansive mouthfeel and perfect balance.

2013 Merlot

While Mt. Veeder is cooler in temperature due to the elevation, it is the first to see the early morning sun. This extended sun exposure helps ripen the tannins creating a Merlot that is rich in fruit, dark cherry and spice. Balanced by structure and the typical Mt. Veeder acidity, this wine has great texture and a mouth-watering finish.

2013 Malbec

The Mt. Brave Malbec is a very special wine. Planted on a northwest facing slope, the vineyard is small, steep and breathtaking. The fruit is rich, concentrated with notes of spice, rich boysenberry and black currants that carry through to the finish. The sturdy structure reveals that this is a true mountain wine.

2013 Zinfandel

With only one acre of Zinfandel planted on the Mt. Brave vineyard, this wine proudly showcases its Mt. Veeder mountain characteristics. On the palate, notes of dark raspberry, dragonfruit and cassis lead into a hint of pepper on the finish. This wine demonstrates great depth and structure.

2013 Cabernet Franc

The unique terroir of our high elevation Mt. Brave vineyard creates distinct concentrated flavors of huckleberry and bittersweet chocolate for this Cabernet Franc. The typical Mt. Veeder acidity and tannin structure combine with Asian spice to produce a wine with lush characteristics and a long finish.
