Mt. Brave Whiskey was born from two of Chris Carpenter’s greatest passions: whiskey and wine. Blending both requires similar sensibilities to achieve a balance of aromatics, flavors, and textures. Finished in vintage Mount Veeder Cabernet Sauvignon barrels, our bourbon captures a specific moment in time from Mount Veeder—be it the way the air flowed over the rocky terrain, the sun shone above the fog line, or how the night blanketed the steep slopes in warmth.

Chris Carpenter is the whiskey blender for Mt. Brave Bourbon. A wine world luminary, Chris is known for crafting legendary Cabernet Sauvignon from mountain and hillside vineyards in California’s Napa Valley, Washington State’s Walla Walla Valley, and Australia’s McLaren Vale, and for his artistry in creating blends that capture the vintage’s finest expression. Chris applies the sensibilities that he has honed during nearly three decades of winemaking to achieving Mt. Brave Whiskey’s intrepid flavor profile.

A Daring Dram—Finished in Cabernet Sauvignon Barrels
Every bottle of Mt. Brave is aged in vintage Mount Veeder Cabernet Sauvignon barrels, imparting an extra layer of age and complexity while forever linking the two liquids.
Chris meticulously selects the forest and toast of the Mount Veeder Cabernet Sauvignon barrels used in the aging process, ensuring they enhance the finished whiskey without overshadowing its true character.
