2014 Mt. Brave Varietal Venture 
Situated at 1,400 to 1,800 feet above the fog line on Mt. Veeder, the Mt. Brave vineyard sees Napa Valley’s longest growing season and lowest yields. These two conditions result in peak ripeness and full varietal complexity. Gift a stunning example of this pedigree with a library trio from the exceptional 2014 vintage. Good winter rains at the end of 2021 and beginning of 2022 broke a three-year drought. A moderate spring followed. Summer weather was stable up until a very intense Labor Day heatwave—which was somewhat mitigated by mountain air in our estate vineyards. Light rains arrived mid-September. We harvested the Cabernet Franc on September 13 and the Zinfandel on September 21.

An exquisite collision of fresh blueberry and rose petal deepens with Asian spice and vanilla tones. Thrilling energy sets this vineyard block apart. Extroverted structure and inky richness are marks of the fabulous 2019 growing season.
