The wines of Mt. Brave
The Zinfandel from our estate vineyard on Mt. Veeder shows notes of ripe raspberry, classic Zinfandel pepper, and cassis followed by a hint of espresso with great acidity and classic mountain structure.
Planted on rocky soils with minimal water retention, these Cabernet Franc vines produce wine of incredible concentration. Aromas of blue fruit and rose petal captivate while notes of herbs de Provence and wet stone grace the palate for a supple and structured finish. The 2017 truly reflects Mt. Veeder's rugged sense of place.
Grown at 1,650 feet above sea level, the fruit from the Mt. Brave and Veeder Peak Vineyards shows flavors of dark Bing cherry and rhubarb spice. This Syrah has incredible length and pitch perfect acidity, enhanced with a touch of minerality.
The 2017 Cabernet Sauvignon is powerful and opulent but maintains an underlying thread of pure finesse. Blackberries and spice jump from the glass followed by secondary notes of dark chocolate and anise. Perfectly balanced acidity leads to a long, memorable finish. On the Palate of the 2016 Mt. Brave Malbec killer spice overlays rich boysenberry and black currants. A pop of fruit carries across to the finish which is clearly mountain structure based.
This Merlot boasts notes of dark red fruit that seamlessly blends with the power of Mt. Veeder tannins. Asian spice, vanilla, rose petal and a long finish highlight this wine.
This hand-harvested, small-production Cabernet Sauvignon displays aromas of blueberry pie, vanilla, and toast while the palate manifests into bittersweet chocolate, black cherry, minerals and coffee bean.
